I highly recommend John as what I would say 'a dog whisperer'. John was recommended to me by a veterinary nurse. Walking and socialising with Layla was getting very difficult and neither of us were enjoying our walks. I had to do something. I contacted John and did the 2hr intro with him. John had already given me loads of information to help me with my dog. Then I dropped Layla off for her 5 day turnaround training. Still I was unsure how it all would go especially the thought of her hoping on a bus with multiple other dogs. I actually thought it was impossible. But it just worked. John kept me updated throughout the entire training process with videos throughout the day. Gee I really looked forward to those videos. I was amazed with what John could do and what Layla was capable of. This has now given me the tools and confidence to work with my dog and enjoy our walks again. I came home very enthusiastic and full of confidence. Layla and I have spent the weekend walking around our local shopping centre and practising our long lead training down at the park.. The way Layla has grasped the training is astonishing. Layla is much more relaxed and calm. John is very passionate about what he does and excels at it. Thank you John and Hannah

John and Hannah are beyond words!
What started as a very reactive boy and very strong defiant girl in Bronx and Indy, who were barely walkable and unable to be in social situations, have been calmed and controlled within days of John’s training.
Each going through a one week program has transformed their behaviour. Together they now walk loose leash, follow command, are non-reactive to other dogs and people, and remain calm in social situations.
Two dogs that people would cross a road to avoid, walking them through a crowded Manly Boathouse I never thought would be possible. We did it, AND adults and children actually wanted to stop and pat them!
I am forever grateful to have been recommended to John and all that he has taught me about understanding them and their needs. A lifetime of adventures awaits for me and my babes, for me priceless.

We are so incredibly grateful to John for what he has done for our dog, Winnie.
After witnessing a horrific dog attack, Winnie became extremely anxious. She was constantly on edge, frightened by the smallest things, and even hesitant to be patted by us. It was heartbreaking to see her living in such fear, and we eventually reached a point where we could no longer walk her around our neighbourhood.
We first noticed John down at Wynnum, calmly walking a group of dogs who were all relaxed and happy, while Winnie stood beside us barking anxiously and unable to settle. Seeing that contrast gave us hope, and we knew we had to reach out.
Winnie has now completed John’s 5 day program, and the change has been incredible. She is calm, confident, and walking beautifully on a loose lead. We can finally enjoy simple walks together again. It truly feels like we have our happy girl back.
John’s communication and support throughout the process were outstanding. The daily videos, clear explanations, and time he took to guide us made such a difference. We felt supported every step of the way, and no question was ever too small.
We cannot thank John enough and would recommend him without hesitation. We will absolutely be bringing our second dog to him.

Almost blind, almost deaf, 7 mths old, wolfhound cross puppy, adopted by older people with grandchildren.  That equalled.....potential trouble.  What were we thinking 😳?  A case of the heart rules the head.  
John and Hannah have worked their magic with Miss Myfanwy (Miffy, to her friends).  Lots of gentle training for Miffy and her new mum.  It has definitely been a worthwhile investment in time and money to have a well trained puppy....and owner.
Miffy now looks forward every week to her day out with John, Hannah and doggie friends on the doggie bus...what fun!

We’ve just finished a five-day training program with John and Hannah for our Kelpie puppy, Pinot, and the change has been incredible.
On Day 1, she was all over the place — sniffing everything, pulling on the lead, wanting to go wherever her attention went, and trying to greet every dog she saw. By Day 5, she was loose-leash walking, settling into a pack of other dogs, and actually focusing on command.
What really surprised us, though, was how much we learned. We came into this pretty clueless about dog behaviour, and John and Hannah explained things in a way that finally made sense. They taught us how to understand what Pinot’s doing, what she needs, and how to respond without making things harder for her.
They were patient, honest, and incredibly dedicated with both Pinot and us.
We’re so grateful for everything they’ve done — Pinot is calmer, happier, and easier to understand, and we feel so much more confident as her owners.

We cannot recommend John highly enough – our experience has been life changing. On day one of his 5-day turnaround we dropped off our 55kg American Bully X Hicks who was muzzled, medicated and extremely reactive to people and dogs and expected the worst. Within 2 hours, he was walking loose leash without his muzzle right next to John’s dog Diesel!! An hour later we got footage of him in the bus with another dozen dogs! Absolutely phenomenal. We have hired other trainers previously but never had this level of success and after 3 years I can finally walk my dog. Thank you John and team for giving our boy this chance. Worth every cent of investment.

We can’t thank John enough for the incredible work he did with our dog, Mango. As a 1-year-old rescue, Mango was very nervous when she came to us, but John’s training has completely transformed her confidence.
Thanks to his patient and effective methods, Mango can now walk on a loose lead and stay calm in public places that used to overwhelm her. It’s been amazing to see her progress and how much happier she is overall.
We were so impressed with John’s work that we’re now booking in our 1-year-old mastiff for training too!

On Friday, 26 April 2024 my wife and I saw John at the Boathouse, Manly. He must have had ten dogs tethered to his belt, entering the packed café, ordered a coffee, and left calmly with the pack. People sat in awe. We had just come back from the Gold Coast, visibly shaken from the experience we had with our newly minted Irish Wolfhound X, Summer. Still shaken, we took down John’s mobile number emblazoned on his shirt and contacted him soon after. We did an introductory one-on-one with Summer at our place for 2 hours. The improvement from that was noticeable. We then enrolled Summer in the five day 5-day turnaround, and the rest was history. Summer came home, mentally exhausted each day, and after a week, to us, she was a new dog. We just wanted a lovable rogue who could sit at cafés with us after the death of our dearly loved Akita Husky X. Our efforts failed badly, but within a week, we were relaxing with our girl daily at our favourite cafes. John and Hannah are sensational, passionate, and intuitively love dogs. It is clear to see. We would without hesitation recommend Me & D’s Canine Academy, it will be he best money you have spent.

Our pup, Orlando was missing out. He was a nightmare to walk and terrible in social situations so sadly, he was increasingly kept at home.
I saw John and Hannah along the waterfront with a team of well behaved dogs and after a small chat with John… I knew he was exactly who I needed to help us with Orlando.
After completing the 5 day turnaround we had a dog who learnt how to read the cues taught to him, and to us by John. On an family walk with Orlando a passerby commented on our “well behaved dog” and said he “wished his dog was as good as that”. This is something we had never heard about Orlando before and we are truly elated to have a dog that will no longer have to miss out on living his best life!

I recently rescued a very fearful 15 month old border collie called Spencer. After the first consultation I knew John was the right trainer for Spencer. I immediately booked Spencer in with John for the intensive 5 day turnaround. What a transformation in such a short space of time. After 5 days I no longer had a fearful border collie who lunged at vehicles and was scared of the outside world. Spencer is now a pleasure to walk and be with and I have John to thank for that.
